wifi wont stay connected, pi zero

hi I have a pi zero and a official wifi dongle (white one with raspberry on it) but it does not stay connected for longer than a few mins.
on boot it connects to my wifi then 2-3 mins later it cant reach my router, ive managed to update it in the time its running, one thing I noticed is my wifi dongle is getting hot.

running latest rasbian and updated,

First suspect, is your power supply, then an overly thin wire from power supply to you Pi Zero ... , a possibly bad wi-fi dongle is not impossible, but not likely.

I'm using a official white 2A power supply, the only cheap item is my 99p usb2.0 hub, but have no replacement to test if it the hub

ive tested my official wifi dongle but plugging it into my desktop pc, and it fails to connect to my network even tho drivers are installed.

I guess im just the 1 in a million that got a broken wifi adaptor lol, wish I had that luck with the lottery lol

Not nice ... , hopefully you can get it replaced.
