What can I do with Bluetooth

Tue Mar 08, 2016 4:41 pm

I have the RPi 3 with Bluetooth but I am interested to know what members are using Bluetooth for on the Pi.

Over the years I've experimented with:
  1. Streaming audio to the Pi
    Streaming audio from the Pi
    Serial communication
    HID controllers
    Network sharing
    TTY terminals
    Piconets
    File transfer
    Beacons
    Proximity detection
    Accessing BLE sensors
Probably a few other use cases, all with varying ease and success. Others have connected keyboards, mice and game controllers.

Sorry for my ignorance: can you use the embedded BLE module on PI3 to receive audio signals/streaming from devices like smartphones or so?

Using BLE, no. Using the onboard classic Bluetooth, yes.
