DHCP / DNS Problem?

Fri Feb 12, 2016 12:18 pm

Hello,
Trouble browsing.
Using RPI 2, brand new Raspbian install from noob.. I can connect to my wifi router via PI browser with 192.168.1.1and log into my router, so that connection is good. After mucking around in my router and exiting I was able to surf for 1 session. After reboot I can no longer get to any web sites. I can still see and talk to my router. I suspect this a DHCP/DNS issue. I have other wifi devices (laptop, tablet, Phillip lights) that just connect with no issues so I think my router DHCP is working correctly. How can I solve this?

Thanks,

Alan

Can you post the output of uname -a so we can tell exactly what version of Raspbian was installed by (what version) of NOOBS?
Trev.
Still running Raspbian Jessie or Stretch on some older Pi's (an A, B1, 2xB2, B+, P2B, 3xP0, P0W, 2xP3A+, P3B+, P3B, B+, and a A+) but Buster on the P4B's. See: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi/raspiidx.htm

That is quite an old version of Raspbian Wheezy - it may be worth re-trying with a current (Jessie) version:

Ok, I have upgraded to the latest distro of Raspbian. Wrote it down but left the note at home. Its 14.?.? something , any way the latest distro. Still have the issue. I think it must related to my wifi dongle as I get about 50% packet loss when pinging my router. I want to fix that issue first, so I will open a new topic on this issue.
