Changing pertition size

Thu Aug 02, 2012 5:11 pm

Hi Guys,

My Pi has run out of space, Iv been told that the default partition size on squeeze is tiny (By default_ compared to what it could be extended to! I have a 8gb SD card.

I'm not being lazy, I have looked around on the internet for ways to change it. There's a few ways of doing it and i just want the most simple. I'm still a newb to Linux so be kind.

I just want someone to write a step by step tutorial on how to do it.

Would be much appreciated :P

Thanks !

Why squeeze? Raspbian wheezy is much better and includes an initial setup menu that includes repartition option.
It couldn't be simpler.

Put the SD card in a Linux PC's SD card reader (an ubuntu etc... livecd/usb will work too) and use an easy GUI tool like gparted, or the gnome disk utility to resize it. Very easy.
