[HELP] How to access files through PC

I have two questions
1. I was just wondering if you can use Raspberry pi as a file storage just like a flash drive that you can insert in your PC and access its files. I don't necessarily want it to be a file storage, i just want to access the files on the SD card without removing it from rpi.
2. Is it possible to transfer files in rpi with just the power cable attach? I already know how to transfer it through filezilla but having it stand by costs electricity.

You can use samba to share files/folders of the pi with Windows based PC's.

A simple way is to install "winscp" on your laptop / pc. This is a file transfer program, listing pc files on one side and Pi files on the other (once you have logged in to the Pi). Just navigate to the required folder on both, then drag and drop files from one to the other

OP already uses filezilla, so there's really not much (if any) benefit to using winscp...

1. USB is a host and client system. You cannot directly connect a host to a host or a client to a client. That is one reason why you very rarely see a USB cable with the same type of plug at both ends. A PC is a USB host. All RPis are hosts except a Zero can be changed from host to client.
2. With only a power cable attached a RPi has no connectivity to anything.

Running a raspberry pi for 366 days costs less than £4.38. It's not a big cost and won't break the bank.
