Realistic expectations?

Fri Jan 01, 2016 7:16 pm

Hi!

I'm new here and absolute noob. I'd like to buy a raspberry pi2 to replace my pc for only 2 of its uses:
- word processor
- film streaming on internet (and web browsing).

Are those realistic expectations?

Thank you!

Perfectly realistic, I use mine for that.
Although I've found youtube doesn't work as well on the pi as it does on a pc.
The best bit is the absolute silence, no fans, not even a quiet one, just silence :)
LibreOffice does everything m$office did, it even imports m$ documents.
Best £30 I've spent in a long time, I'm sure I've saved that much in electricity since I bought my first pi.
The pc rarely gets turned on unless I feel the need to burn a CD or play some fps.

Is there something to install or something to buy that is not in this pack http://thepihut.com/collections/raspber ... tarter-kit ?

Thank you!

Everything appears to be there except the keyboard and mouse.
