Help!!! Not booting.

Fri Jan 01, 2016 2:55 pm

so pleased I got my kids the Pi for christmas but for my sanity and diminishing lack of knowledge someone help me get this up and running or new year resolutions will fail!!!!

I have a raspberry Pi 2 model B NOOBS edition.

1. can I run this on a all in one desktop?
2. I put the little card in, I added power added keyboard & Mouse, from all in one desktop, plugged in HDMI and NOTHING, the little green and red light came on then the green went off and nothing appeared on the screen.

feel so helpless!!
look forward to hearing from a kind PI helper.
thanks

Look at the page ,this post is posted in, and noticed the sticky section on top?
there is a sticky in it named boot problem sticky, read that,it has ALL the info about getting the PI to boot.

First guess... try connecting it all up BEFORE adding power. It probably started, did not find the HDMI connection and started in alternative video mode. When you plugged in the HDMI monitor it was already ignoring it.

Are you plugging an HDMI cable into sockets on the RPi and the all-in-one?

If yes, check that the HDMI socket on the all-in-one is an input and not an output intended for another monitor or TV.

Very, very few HDMI sockets can be configured between input and output modes.
