7 Port Bub for Pi Zero

Fri Dec 18, 2015 4:49 pm

The pi zero must have a Hub ! so I'd be very interest in which 7 port hub successfully works with a Pi Zero !

I'd greatly appreciated a post from anyone who uses a 7 port hub on a zero and where they got it from and the model of the Hub. I'm in the UK. I'd like to replace the Benkin Hub asap pure because its 4 port !

I have had a lot of problems with flaky 7 port hubs on Pi's in the past, so I'm looking for one that performs well with the Pi Zero.

Many thanks for all the support I've received from members of this Forum.

I am using an ORICO USB 2.0 9 port hub with two charging ports with my Pi Zero, and it is back powering the Pi through its cable.

You can see it at the top of the following page:

That is an inadequate PSU for a 7-port hub. It should have one that provides at least 3.5A.

Maybe, but for the price of a power supply you get 7 additional USB ports. And power/port is not worse than with a B+/Pi2. Looks like a perfect companion for many Pi0 projects to me.

Especially so if the Zero could be mounted on the board on standoffs.

As the connectors on the Zero are all on one side, I expect we'll see similar boards evolve where the Zero plugs straight in. Neat!
