I need help in downloading the operating system to kick-start our new Raspberry Pi.
When I call myself a novice, you should consider me more inept at computing than the most inept person you know.
I'm afraid I don't understand the language being used, about images, torrents and so on. I've tried, and I don't get it.
So I'm stuck (and my 12-year old son is looking askance at me).
Can someone please tell me how to download the operating system, in absolutely bullet-proof language, assuming I understand nothing, in terms that say: "go to web site x, click on selection y, download the file and file it on your home computer, place your blank SD card into a slot, open file z, do this to it, drag it to this location," - that sort of thing?
I'll publicise the name of whoever helps me, on Twitter and my blog (if you want me to). It would be the least I can do.
I use Windows XP, have the right amount of free disk space, and a card reader hooked into a spare USB slot.
The Raspberry Pi power up, and we're ready to go!
Thanks in advance!
