wpa_supplicant blank?

Mon Nov 02, 2015 1:28 am

Should wpa_supplicant.conf be blank after booting? After editing this file, seemingly correcting a connection issue by doing so, I then returned a few hours later restarted the pi and had the same connection issues. I checked the conf and it was blank.

The original issue is posted here as the post "Net Connection?"

Code: Select all

[email protected] ~ $ sudo cat /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf
ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=netdev
update_config=1
for edit use
sudo nano /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf

if you use the dhcpcdui from desktop [ network icon ] and try to configure your SSID / password
( what would be the usual way to do it / not a manual edit / )
that should write into that file.
a combination of manual edit and using the desktop tool easy goes wrong.
