Code: Select all
auto lo iface lo inet loopback auto eth0 allow-hotplug eth0 iface eth0 inet manual #auto wlan0 #the author of the tutorial told to comment out every line with wlan0, but when i start up the pi i get the following message #configuring network interfaces ... interface wlan0 does not exist! #allow-hotplug wlan0 #iface wlan0 inet manual #wpa-conf /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf #auto wlan1 #i also just commented out these because i didn't see any notice about wlan1 anywhere #allow-hotplug wlan1 #iface wlan1 inet manual #wpa-conf /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf auto br0 iface br0 inet dhcp bridge_ports eth0 wlan0 #am i bridging a wlan port i haven't configured??
Code: Select all
interface=wlan0 driver=rt1871xdrv bridge=br0 ssid=JurgenPi channel=1 wmm_enabled=0 wpa=1 wpa_passphrase=JurgPiPass wpa_key_mgmt=WPA-PSK wpa_pairwise=TKIP rsn=pairwise=CCMP auth_algs=1 macaddr_ac1=0
when booting my pi i get the following messages:
*FIXED* using "sudo apt-get remove dhcpcd5"
[FAIL] Not running dhcpcd because /etc/network/interfaces ... failed!
[FAIL] defines some interfaces that will use a dhcp client ... failed!
googling this i found out it had to use the following commands:
dpkg -l | grep dhcp (apparently it's an L not an I or a 1)
sudo update-rc.d isc-dhcp-server disable
both didn't work
also following this tutorial i was told to use:
sudo hostapd -dd /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf
which resulted in the following errors:
*FIXED* line 2: invalid/unknown driver 'rt1871xdrv' (the current raspbian version already has the right drivers which it automatically detected and selected)
*FIXED* line8: invalid WPA passphrase length 6 (expected 8....63) (pass needed to be atleast 8 characters long)
*FIXED* line13: unknown configuration item 'macaddr_ac1' (changed to macaddr_acl)
*FIXED* WPA-PSK enabled, but PSK or passphrase is not configured (extending pass length fixed this)
this might help too:
*FIXED AFTER ABOVE FIXES*
on booting today it gave this message:
[...] configuring network interfaces ... interface wlan0 does not exist!
waiting for br0 to get ready (MAXWAIT is 32 seconds)
DHCPDDISCOVER on br0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 4 (this line 5 more times with interval 11, 19, 7 ,13 and 7)
no DHCPOFFERS received
no working leases in persistent database - sleeping.
hope anyone can help
