Is it possible to reach a maximum speed of fast sdhc card

Thu Sep 03, 2015 8:59 pm

Hi guys, i read previous thread about benchmark but i did not understand Can rapsberry Pi 2 reach speed of samsung pro cards?? I am hesitate between
Samsung 32gb EVO with

or Samsung 16gb Pro.
91MB/s Read and nearly 80MB/s Write.

Is it enough the speed from EVO cards and is it enough 16gb storage? At the begging i will use the rapsbery to make my TV smart. Kobi, steam, downloading films and etc. Please recommended me which card. to choose.

you will be lucky to reach a 20MB/s read speed with a SD in RPI.
read http://elinux.org/RPi_SD_cards

for movie file storage and torrent better use external USB HDD anyhow,
so a 8GB SD card ( in RPI it is the Operating System Disk ) is ok

I saw this result and my conclusion is that evo and pro is almost the same. At this test i think that RPI 2 can`t reach more than 20mb/s.
Is it true that rapsberry PI 2 is enough microcard with 20mb/s?

The Raspberry Pi B+ and 2B use the same SD Card Data Bus so there is no improvement to the I/O, there have been several post regarding tests carried out on I/O Data Speed, though the eLinux one above is fairly thorough and 20MB/s seems the maximum average, also found this which seems to agree:
