apt inventory?

Is there any way to get aptitude or apt to make a list of the packages already installed? I have a Wheezy system I've been working on and I would like to bring my Raspbian up to the same configuration. Keep notes? What notes?

I am not sure with apt or aptitude but "dpgk -l" without the speech marks, will list all installed packages,heres a link to a dpkg cheat sheet http://www.cyberciti.biz/howto/question ... t.php.Hope this helps
