clipboard Copy-paste with ssh terminal

Wed Aug 05, 2015 11:12 am

Hi,
I am using raspbian and it is headless. I am on windows 7 and connected using ssh. Could you please tell me how to do copy-paste from the terminal console .

On the terminal console , I am trying : ctrl-c and v, ctr-shift-c and v. right click on mouse, select text and enter

The thing is it sometimes works with "select text+enter". But usually nothing works.

Could you please tell me how to do copy-paste.

This has nothing to do with the Pi or with Raspbian.

It has to do with Windows and with whatever Windows ssh client you are using.

If you are using PUtty, then you should be aware that PUtty uses the old style keys - ctrl/insert for copy and shift/insert for paste.
And some folks need to stop being fanboys and see the forest behind the trees.

(One of the best lines I've seen on this board lately)

With Putty I use the scroll wheel button to copy text, and the right mouse button to paste text into the command line.

Scroll up or down in the terminal to the text you want to copy. Hold down the scroll wheel button and highlight the text, release the button and the text is in your clipboard. I find that easier than keyboarding it with <CTRL> keys to copy/paste.
