SD Card Class 10

I just purchased a RASPBERRYPI-2-MODB-1GB. I know that the 8 GB (4 ) class SD card is recommended, but I can only find SD cards in class (10 ). Can the new Raspberry PI 2 model B run on a Class (10 ) SD card?

Mine runs ok with a sandisk ultra 32gb class 10, £10 at tescos when l bought it.

Yes it will run.

However there is some debate as to the performance (when used in a RPi) relative to a Class 4 or 6 card.

A Class 10 card reads and writes faster. It works just fine. I only use Class 10 cards.

It really depends on what you need to undertake, I believe if you are using Raspbian like a general purpose machine ie Office Suite and Surfing then a Class 4/6 is ideal, but W10 IoT state use a Class 10, so no one size fits all scenario.
