hello, I'm looking for an opportunity to make the printingstatus visible with a led's.
I found a webpage (http://danmalec.blogspot.de/2015/02/octoglow.html) where someone did it with a raspi and piglow. but I wanna use a raspi 2 and ws2812 to make the status visible.
it should not shine all led's simultaneously, but increasing depending on the progress of the printing and at the end then all led shine.
perhaps it is also possible to show the error status of the printer / printing by blinking red led's.
all the thing should run on the raspi 2 with the program octoprint

so, perhaps someone has an idea how to do it and can give me a clue

Good luck with this. I recently finished a product called EasyPeasy (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/easypeasy) where I also tried to use a Neopixel. I worked fine on my RPi B+, but I simply could not get it to work on the RPi 2. I ended up wasting a huge amount of time and eventually had to re-design my PCB to use a normal RGB LED instead of a Neopixel because it was quite important to me that EasyPeasy works on all models of RPi (and even on Arduino).

so, the raspi 2 will work with a normal RGB-Strip (2812b)? If it work than I can use a RGB LED-Strip instead the adafruit thing.
