How to connect FingerPrint Scanner TTL GT511C3?

Tue May 05, 2015 4:00 pm

Hi,

I have a Raspberry Pi Model B and I want to use FingerPrint Scanner TTL GT511C3 for a project I am working on. Based from the link, does that mean that I can connect the FingerPrint Scanner Module directly to the Raspberry Pi without the use of any level shifters? Could I just connect the Module directly to pins 8 and 10 without breaking the Raspberry Pi?

Thanks

It looks ok.

Connect one ends TX to the other ends RX and vice versa.

You need to disable the system's use of the serial link as a login console. If you are using Raspbian there is an option in (sudo) raspi-config to do that.

Return to “Beginners”
