New to Raspberry Pi

Fri May 01, 2015 5:55 pm

Hello All,

My name is Ted, and I am an oldster, retired 18 years. I have bought a couple of Raspberry Pis just to keep my brain in gear. I have had much experience in C and C++. I have written and built a couple of c/c++ programs, and they seem to compile and link fine. However, they will not run. Does anybody know what I am not doing? Help Please.

Ted

Welcome!

What are your scripts? Did you compile them on the pi with g++?

Are the files marked as executables?

How did you try to execute them - from the terminal or from a file manager?

If from a terminal and from the right directory, did you precede the file name with "./" to indicate that you meant a file in the current directory?

Any error messages on the terminal?
