Can Rasberry PI Cam Connect to Rasberry PI Router and

Thu Apr 30, 2015 4:02 am

Hey guys, basic concept question before I get too deep into the project I might take on.

I am using one Rasberry PI unit as an IP camera. This IP camera will connect to another Rasberry PI unit that acts a router.

That all is doable and I've read a lot about how people have done those 2 things (separately, but I'll figure it out).

The meat and potatoes of the project is the next part. I need the Router to connect to an Android device via OTG cable and display the IP cameras live video, inside a small worker app.

Is this possible to do?

You might be thinking I'm crazy and why would I ever need this. If this works I will be able to stream local IP cameras while keeping my network connections unused, which is very important.

Thanks so much for your help and expertise!

The Raspberry Pi is a USB host, it can not be a USB OTG slave. If your Android device can run as a USB slave you can access it as a mounted disk drive.

It's better to use WiFi or BlueTooth to connect RPis and phones/tablets.
