rpi b+ booting, pi2 not

Hello,

After some fun with my raspberry pi b+, i decided to buy one rpi 2 for my television (in combination with osmc). I have been trying to get it to work for over a couple or days, and i tried every tip/tutorial which i could find (also NOOBS). But here is my problem:

When i connect my RPI2 to the power and tv (through HDMI), my tv keeps signaling "no HDMI signal", and the green led of my rpi2 keeps flashing in an 8 times pattern. And now I am at the point where i start thinking my rpi2 is defective (although i highly doubt it and i wouldn't be surprised if i missed something). Does anybody have an idea what i could be doing wrong?

here is some more information:
I tried the cables and sd card with my b+, so it is not that;
I tried osmc (through the official installer), and the diskimage. This doesn't do anything on the rpi2 but shows the rainbow screen on b+( I know why);
I tried the newest noobs, which works fine on the b+, but again doesn't do anything on the rpi2

the boot problem sticky will assist you, (it tells for example what the flashing means), and yes in this case it means the ram on your PI is defective.
