Itunes alternative for shairport

Hello everybody,
I'm very new to this, but I hope you can help me. I searched the internet but I can't find a solution. I successfully installed shairport on my raspberry pi b+ to stream audio via itunes and any other idevices.
I also want to use it with ubuntu, but I can't find an alternative for itunes that can stream my mp3s to the raspberry. Can you guys help me?
