Using Arch Linux, lighttpd web server and sqlite database I have been able to get Drupal 7 running on my Raspberry Pi.

I did try with the more traditional Apache and MySQL, but the raspi couldn't handle it. Considering it is running plugged directly into my router in my hallway over O2 home broadband, I think it's doing well.

This is great. I've just started playing with Drupal on my windows PC and I can now try it on the RPi. Thanks

Awesome to know, but I figured as much. I managed to get Drupal 7 running off a 17 year old box with a 460MHz processor and 256MB of pre-DDR RAM. And it ran pretty dam well!

It just shows that Drupal is awesome (duh) and so is the Raspberry Pi (also duh) lol

I notice that it appears to be offline now, but I picked up your instructions from the google cache.
Upon installing Drupal (on Arch/lighttpd/sqlite), I'm getting one error, as follows below. Do you have any ideas? My phpinfo() is reporting PDO drivers = no value. What have I omitted?

Error
Database support Disabled
Your web server does not appear to support any common PDO database extensions. Check with your hosting provider to see if they support PDO (PHP Data Objects) and offer any databases that Drupal supports.

[EDIT] Solved it with

Code: Select all

pacman -S php-sqlite
after faffing around for ages!

I've been getting errors which look like incompatibility with PHP5.4. Did you use an older version? If so, where from?

I just finished getting Drupal 7 running on the fedora distro. http://r-pi.mcsinned.com. It's a little slow but it works.

I have Drupal 7 running with mySQL. I'm using the wheezy beta distro on a 4GB SD card, and linking the main drupal directory from the /var/www directory using a symbolic link to a partition on a usb flash drive. (I'm running my RPi headless via tightVNC - there are posts about this on here). This is useful as the website content is not on the SD card, thus reducing the possibility of b*ggering up the OS or the SD hardware.
The link is:
whistem.no-ip.org/home
If you get a broken link, don't worry - I'm probably just mucking about...
Also, registering on the website is dodgy at the moment (email issues) so please don't try.
Just Look and Enjoy,
Paul.

Do you still have, or know where one can get these instructions? Thanks...

I managed to get it setup pretty easily with Apache PHP5 Mysql and the standard Drupal 7 package - but I am lucky enough to have got the 512M version 8-)

It runs fast-enough - but you must enable the caching (Configuration > Performance) so your visitors don't die of boredom waiting for a page to load.

Here is my one http://javawocky.zapto.org

Just goes to show that good things come in small packages... ;)

For what it's worth, I was thinking of doing this with mine, among other things, so I'm glad some other folks had the same thoughts.
