Several possibilities come to mind: Check your network connection...does your RPi show up on your router's device list? The default keyboard layout and language setting for the Raspbian OS is for the "UK" (or "GB"). Check that in /etc/default/keyboard, being sure that your settings are appropriate for your keyboard layout. If you did not place an empty file named "ssh" in the top directory of the boot partition (not the boot directory) and/or change your password and enable ssh in raspi-config, permission may be refused. Finally, when using wifi, if your network has encryption installed, the encryption key and SSID must be entered exactly as they are set on the router, including case. And of course, be certain that the Caps-Lock key is not set "on". All of these have bitten me on the tail at one time or another.

With a Draytek Vigor router ( and many other makes and models) the IP address 192.168.1.1 is very likely to be the address of the router itself.

yes I know, but I turned my ethernet cable in my router on Lan port 1. The software says that the ip of port 1 is 192.168.1.1

What software? Looks to me that you are looking at the IP of the router, as B.Goode suggested.

That's correct. The port is on the router. The IP address associated with that port, and therefore of the router, is 192.168.1.1 We appear to agree about that.

So using the IP address 192.168.1.1 will not be the correct way to make an SSH connection to your RPi.

I put him just in Lan 3 and the ip from that port is 192.168.1.3 and he is doing nothing

When an RPi gets a 169.254.*.* Address it is an indication that it did not get a valid reply from a dhcp server so it defaults to that non-functional placeholder address instead.

That address cannot be used to communicate with your RPi over its router connection.

Have you rebooted the RPi after connecting it to the router?

Do you know that the utp network cable being used to connect the RPi to the router is in working order? Can any other device connect to that router port using the same cable?

the software says that the Lan port is in use. I did reboot the RPI when I had it connected to the router. and he is connected right throw the port and it is in one cable. so it can't that input 1 is taking 2 cables

Clearly no other device can use the cable at the same time.

It will be necessary to remove the RPi and substitute another working device to check that the cable and port are functioning.

OK pretty stupid and basic but I have to ask: have you enabled ssh in the raspi-setup?
