Install GCC on freeBSD

Sat Nov 01, 2014 9:50 am

Dear all,

I am a beginner to raspberry's world.
I have borrowed a raspberry pi board model and I installed freeBSD from this link:
http://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/snap ... AGES/10.0/
Now I want to install gcc compiler. I understand that gcc depends on the distribution that's why I am lost which gcc I can install on freeBSD. Could you point me where I can find gcc for freeBSD?
You may want to know why I have chosen freeBSD. In fact I need a UNIX version and not LINUX.
Some files are missed from LINUX version such as if_dl.h but available on freeBSD. Does this make sense for you ?
Thanks in advance !

Cheers,

sgeos

Have you tried installing the lang/gcc port? There are also some more specific ports- gcc46, gcc47, gcc48, gcc49, gcc5.

This post is also about gcc.
