FreeBSD and config.txt

Sun Aug 03, 2014 2:02 pm

Hello all.
I've just tried to install a FreeBSD snapshot, FreeBSD-11.0-CURRENT-arm-armv6-RPI-B-20140701-r268111.img to be precise and I've notice that the overscan parameters on config.txt aren't used. Other parameters are read correctly (for instance sdtv_mode or sdtv_disable_colourburst. Is this normal?

This is the config.txt I've used: the video parameters are the same used on a working linux sdcard.

disable_overscan=0
overscan_top=16
overscan_bottom=16
overscan_left=16
overscan_right=0
sdtv_mode=2
sdtv_aspect=1
sdtv_disable_colourburst=0
hdmi_force_hotplug=0

disable_commandline_tags=1
gpu_mem=32
device_tree=rpi.dtb
device_tree_address=0x100
kernel=uboot.img

it worked for me but with strange result and only when using large numbers ie. 700

Finally I found this solution:
overscan_scale=1

and then things fell into place

Return to “FreeBSD”
