FREEBSD 10 RELEASED

Mon Jan 27, 2014 7:04 pm

Does someone know where to find a ready image of the 10.0 release of FreeBSD?

(I tried to find it but without success, but I do not believe that doesn't exist since the official support!)

Thank you!
(and surely will be widely appreciated by many people :))

Glen Barber published a (unofficial) SD image of FreeBSD 10.0-RELEASE, which seems to work pretty well. You can find it here:

http://people.freebsd.org/~gjb/RPI/

This has an autosize startup script that will resize partition and FS to fill the entire SD card (after the 2nd boot).

Thanks for the link!

But how do I flash the image?

I tried on my Mac:

sudo dd bs=1m if=~/FreeBSD-10.0-RELEASE-RPI-B.img of=/dev/rdisk2

Then I get a boot screen on my Pi. But booting fails with:

"Mounting /dev/'thisnthat' ... failed error 19"

Then I get a Terminal:

"mountroot>"

Still no success.
Seems that FreeBSD declare support but I didn't find anyone installing 10 release on Raspberry(despite I think that many would like!)...

It seems that the links posted in this thread are dead. I get a 404 on the link above, and I can't seem to find an image anywhere, not even in the downloads section. I searched for the old blog post that announced it and tried that link but it seems that it has been removed from RaspberriPi.org.

What gives?

Has someone sent Cease and Desist or something?

No, the snapshots are on the official mirrors now. You can find them at:

ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/snaps ... SO-IMAGES/

Please consider using a mirror near you:
