I am a new to the raspberry pi world but I am knowledgeable about computers and the command line. The point is is that I'm trying to get freebsd to boot on the pi 2 b. I get it installed on my pi using the sdcard. I keep getting a rainbow screen upon boot. Any ideas as to why this is? I'd like to get my pi up and running asap. Any help is appreciated.

@dhallet: As far as I can tell, there's a ARMv6 image available. You'll need an ARMv7 image, unless you're packaging it all on your own..

Just out of curiosity, is there a version of FreeBSD for earlier versions of the Pi? Cheers

I've been watching the FreeBSD/ARM mailing list and the FreeBSD forums. So far as I can tell, a bootable FreeBSD image for the Raspberry Pi 2 does not exist. BCM2836 support and u-boot support are being worked on but are not ready. Competing priorities for the developer's time are unclear.
