Android Controller

Fri Apr 16, 2021 4:11 pm

I had a really rough start with PI, trying to use the pi4j libraries, but now that I'm familiarizing myself with the wiringPi, and just sticking to C, things are going a lot better. Still, I feel that I will soon be able to get a handle on the pi4j libraries, and when I do, I was wondering if anyone has had any luck writing programs for Android phones and using pi4j to send instructions to the PI, to make, say an LED blink. What approach would I need to take for something like this? I don't like Python, I think its gross, the whitespace thing bothers me. But I really would like to power things with my phone, and I have a basic but functional understanding of Android programming in Java.

Hey, a possible approach could be to make your Raspberry Pi a REST interface (eg https://webtechie.be/post/2020-07-13-sp ... pberry-pi/), or put a serial cable between Pi and Arduino (eg https://webtechie.be/post/2020-03-30-dr ... pi-arduino) or put Mosquitto queue in between (fully described in https://webtechie.be/books/).

Return to “Java”
