Re: recalboxOS - emulation platform for RPi and RPi2
It's all ok now, I had an issue with my internet conection.
But now I'm having issues with the mame emulator, I tried to play but when I choose a rom the emulator show a configuration screen and I can't play... (sorry for my english writting skills :p)
edit: I had download a rom compatible with 0.37b5
edit 2: another problem, I have installed 3.2.11 version and I can't try to update because recalbox say that I don't have a network conection. I config the wifi and the rp2 is conected with ethernet...

Can you help please? Your solution to enabling a Gasia (PS3) controller for use with Retropie, would you give detailed instructions/code please for replacing the sixad-sixaxis file. As you can tell I am a noob (in fact I am still in the box!) I got a Pi 1 B+ last week for my b'day and have spent a whole week on it with no success. I have just found out that my PS3 is the fake Chinese version...AAAAAARG!!! This has virtually crushed my enthusiasm for getting involved with Raspberry...I think you are my last hope!

There is 1x file that needs to be changed. /usr/sbin/sixad-sixaxis
For anyone else with these controllers, I have uploaded the working file here:

Re: recalboxOS - emulation platform for RPi and RPi2
I have the same problem using the Raspberry Pi 2. I've spent every weekend for over 2 months trying to get the gasia controllers to work properly; however, the issue seems to be more driver related. When I run "jstest /dev/input/js0" it looks like the ps3 controller is detected, but the button presses do not register and stop reporting after the last available button or axisKris94 wrote:Hi,mattrix wrote:Did you remember to make the file executable after replacing?

I have seen your post:

I am trying to set up a Retropie with a Gasia PS3 controller (it has taken a whole week to realise this) and cannot get it to work. I have a RP 1 B+ and am using Retropie 2.6. Will your fix work in this setup and can you give me a detailed set of commands to enable me to insert the code. For example, where the code is inserted and how (e.g. after retropie-set.sh ? etc) I am a one week old noob, so I don't have the knowledge on how to insert a file into /usr/sbin/sixad-sixaxis....... and slowly going crazy!
I have been following this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CouHTix ... e=youtu.be
Many thanks for any assistance you can give.

Hi, the project is still alive, and a release is going to be released soon. I'll let you know for the beta version as soon as it is released.
Really good things to except from this new version

Very exciting! I've been testing other emulation system distros and none are as well put together as recalboxOS. Glad to hear it is still going strong.

Re: recalboxOS - emulation platform for RPi and RPi2
Idea for Recalbox
Have you ever considered making KODI into a separate NOOBS package?
So, clicking KODI would simply reboot into that partion.
This way, it could be optional but most importantly it would be "vanilla" media center and easily upgradeable etc.
You also then wouldn't need to worry about maintaining your specific version of KODI.
Leave it to the user to install drivers for their controllers in KODI.
Maybe have addons that can be installed or something like that.
There may even be some already for people using KODI with controllers.
Even better....
Ship Recalbox with stock NOOBS (so other OS's can be downloaded and installed)
Then scan for other installed NOOBS OS's when starting recalbox then add menu options to boot into these OS's.
You would just need to grab their name and boot partion, then make a button to run the above code for the correct partion.
So,
1) Ship Recalbox (without KODI) and vanilla NOOBS
2) User can download other OS's
3) Recalbox scans for other OS's and adds buttons to boot into them
(Maybe even adds main menu item like the emulators. Have one entry for "OS's", and then list the OS's instead of roms?)
4) Yah. Recalbox is smaller, KODI is optional and vanilla

Re: recalboxOS - emulation platform for RPi and RPi2
I can also confirm setting:
controllers.ps3.driver=gasia
works great with my Gasia controllers
Only small annoyance is that both controllers show player 1 led

Re: recalboxOS - emulation platform for RPi and RPi2
Hello, can anyone confirm if this OS runs on the A+ model? I like the default support for GPIO controllers but want to know if the image is compatible with my pi before I spend a day downloading it (slow internet, tops at 50 kb). The only info I could find on various websites was the B+ and 2 models. Any support is appreciated.

Re: recalboxOS - emulation platform for RPi and RPi2
Okay, I ended up downloading it anyway, Recalbox works fine on the A+ model raspberry pi's, just a bit slower in game play.

Re: recalboxOS - emulation platform for RPi and RPi2
Hi the games should run the same as rpib+. The 'extrem' overclock is highly recommended to get 60fps on all games
Re: recalboxOS - emulation platform for RPi and RPi2
Hi there,
I've downloaded the release (from march) of RecalBoxOS and installed it on my pi 2. Mostly good so far, but for some reason the official pi wifi adapter (https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/usb-wifi-dongle/) doesn't appear to work? I had this issue with OSMC earlier this year but updates resolved it.
Is this a known problem and if so is there a fix please?
Thanks,
Edwin.
