EmulationStation freezes on larger screens

Mon Sep 29, 2014 12:57 am

Hi All,

EmulationStation is running well on a 30" LCD monitor (using an HDMI connection). When I plug it into a 42" plasma screen (also using HDMI), the raspberry pi boots to emulationstation and freezes, and the controllers are unresponsive. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Thanks!
Steve

Hi !

Did you set the memory dedicated to the GPU to 256M ? It happened to me that i forgot to set the gpu memory to 256M, and when i started ES2 on my primary tv, all worked well because the RPi set the output to 720p. I had to put the RPi to an other 1080p tv too see there was no enough memory, as the RPi actually tried to display 1080p.

Hey DL,

By default my gpu_mem is set to 348. I reduced it to 256 and it solved the issue. Thanks for your help!
