Is it an Atari emulator? Something like that seems to be in the Raspbian repositories.

Code: Select all

pi@raspberrypi ~ $ apt-cache search stella
openocd - Open on-chip JTAG debug solution for ARM and MIPS systems
savi - satellite constellation visualisation
starplot - 3-dimensional perspective star map viewer
stella - Atari 2600 Emulator for SDL & the X Window System
stellarium - real-time photo-realistic sky generator
stellarium-data - Stellarium data files
gliese - stellar data set from the Third Catalogue of Nearby Stars
yale - stellar data set from the Yale Bright Star Catalog
pi@raspberrypi ~ $ sudo apt-get install stella -s
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  stella
0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 37 not upgraded.
Inst stella (3.7.2-1 Raspbian:7.0/stable [armhf])
Conf stella (3.7.2-1 Raspbian:7.0/stable [armhf])
pi@raspberrypi ~ $
Have you updated recently?

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update

It IS in the repositories. I demonstrated that in my reply at 4.50 pm earlier today. The enquirer seemed not to notice.

It happens... No apology needed, but thanks anyway. The emphasis was for the benefit of the enquirer: sorry in return if you thought I was sniping at you.

As previously noted by other posters, the problem is probably the repository package locations as they are often changed/moved. If using a 'Fresh' Raspbian Image you need to update the package lists

sudo apt-get update

Once this is done the current repo paths and lists will be updated then its just

sudo apt-get install stella

To run stella from Console/Terminal just Type: stella

Stella can also be Compiled from Source Code yourself if you so wish by downloading it from the Stella Website

Hi Welshy

Stange, it worked when I tried it today, maybe was some form of a glitch.

Could be it was being moved/altered in the Repos when you tired previously so wasn't accessible.
