Minecraft is an extremely CPU intensive workload. Running the server makes my son's Win7 laptop run very hot.
There simply isn't enough grunt in the RPi to run a Minecraft server.
I've tried running the server on my Viglen MPC-L x86 Ubuntu box and it ran but was unplayable (plus that server wasn't usefully doing anything other than running the Minecraft server).
You need a big fat multi-core machine to run a Minecraft server.
