Nes + performance + 2 joystick players

Sun Sep 15, 2013 3:14 pm

Hi all,

I tried some nes emulators but without luck. Some emulators don't have support for 2 player (I can't get player 2 working in retroarch), others has low performance and inaccurate colors (advmess) and others doesn't work in terminal with joystick (fceux).

So, is there any nes emulator that works without X, that has good performance and with 2 player joystick support?

Thank you ;)

It does but you have to set it up correctly, use Andreys excellent Fceux port
Here - https://www.dropbox.com/s/uu751ibdqmvq0co/fceux.zip
Then follow the instructions in this Thread

Although, I cannot confirm 2 Joystick set-up (I only have one). The reason certain Retro Arch cores and many other RPI forks don't support 2 players is that a lot of the emulators are GP32 ports, the handheld obviously doesn't have the facility for 2 players!

But:
Configure the gamepad by running fceux --inputcfg gamepad1 (In 'X' NOT Console)

This is a quote in that post.

Yes because the command starts a config set up which opens in a Window and the title bar (window decoration where the info is) isn't visible in Console. Once its set up there is no need for it again, or you can type the SDL codes straight into the config file, which is obviously more problematic!
