No, the user was commenting on the link in your post which appears to go nowhere.

They are right. Your link is dead, the one you posted is clickable you know.... no typing error is even physically possible on our end.

But heres a question for you:
why can't I just use google or the wiki?

I was trying Minecraft for the kids. I tried dragging and resizing the window and now the minecraft bitmap output is offset a bit to the upper left. I see a bit of the underlying black window. That in it self is not so bad, but the mouse cursor does not work rationally at the edges of the minecraft window.

How do I reset this? Is it in the window manager settings or in minecraft? I can't find much of either settings files in the home directory. The window position seems to be stored between restarts of minecraft and restarts of the window manager? I'm guessing if i remove the stored window settings I it will also fix the problem.

Well, MCPI is not open source, so you cannot know how it is structured. But my guess is this: There are 3 windows. One of them is the black bckground, and the other is an 'overlay' over the black one, displaying the graphics. The last is one that controls the mouse. The first 2 CAN be resized without problem, but I don't think that Mojang have incorporated the ability to resize the 3rd one. So, to scroll around the inventory, you have to use WASD and the enter/return keys. Black line? Many people have problems like this, and (no offence) it seems that only they have the problem. I myself have a problem with Android and XBMC. So I think that the black line is just a unique feature. I guess that you could try running the following command in the terminal (only run it is you have very little or no software that you have installed on the Pi after you got it):

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

If that doesn't work, tell the kids that they have a very special Pi, one of the only that do exist.

Hope this helps. And check this MCPI map out; I made it myself:

Don't fall off the edge! :D

Look at the screen. There is 1 window... There should also only be 1 draw surface within that window.

There are at least 2. Make a python script that, lets say, turns the whole world into dirt. Run MCPI in a small/minimised window, and create a new world.. Run the script, and then move the MCPI window. See? All the graphics STAY. The black screen MOVES. There you are. 2 windows. Now you can wait a couple of minutes for MPI to finish placing all of that dirt. The 3rd one: Maximise the MCPI window, press E, and try to move the cursor to the bottom-right of the MCPI screen.

I think the window positions are cached somewhere. I just don't know where... Knowing if it is the window manager or minecraft I should be looking at would help. Updating the packages probably don't affect it. Specially as minecraft is not from a package.

Resizing the underlying window also changes the size of the "game" window. Maximizing the game still leaves me with part of the underlying black window visible. My guess is the game has a sprite for the gameplay and something is ofsetting it from where it should be. Regardless of my window size I see as much of the black window.

The windows are run using the SDL library. Prove me wrong, and I will be surprised.

Try this:

Re-download it again, right click on the file, and select 'Extract here'.
