BerryBoot and RetroPie

Sun Sep 01, 2013 10:57 pm

I've done quite a bit of searching and can't find a Linux newb-friendly answer to this...

So, as the title suggests, I want to run RetroPie off the same SD Card as another OS (OpenELEC in this instance). I've come across quite a few partial threads on it, and at least one where a guy stated that he had a working build but then disappeared. Can anyone provide an image of a RetroPie build that I can load into BerryBoot without having to tweak it? My Linux skills are sadly completely lacking.

Well, after a good four hours, a lot of caffeine, and a ridiculous amount of stubborn ignorance I managed to get a working image file. I'll share it here for anyone else that wants to do this. There's still some issues (I haven't gotten my USB SNES controllers to work yet), but at least it's running.

If you find this useful I'd appreciate a more permanent hosting home for it. It's taking up a lot of room in my Google Drive.

Thank you so much for uploading that Image! Spend weeks trying to convert it by myself and failed a lot of times ;)

Hi there. A subscriber to my YouTube web series has found this very useful and is currently testing it out.

I have mirrored it here for others as I find Google Drive can be quite slow (and to save your Google Drive bandwidth).

It's available here:

Thanks for posting your BerryBoot RetroPie image. FYI, I started a thread to try to add as many BerryBoot images as possible on this thread http://www.raspberrypi.org/forum/viewto ... 0&p=476583. I added your to the list. I hope that helps everyone.

Also I have tried a few guides on how to convert. img to .squashfs, but it has not worked  . If you've figured out how to do it, explain it well, please.
In particular, I have been following this "http://kll.engineering-news.org/kllfusi ... icle_id=45" and this "http://engineerdemos.blogspot.it/2012/0 ... 2714029461", but apparently I'm still missing something, or I'm wrong something.
