There are plenty of GB, GBC and GBA emulators available Mednafen, Gambatte, GearBoy, AdvanceMESS and GpSP. Check this Thread for all your RPi emulator needs.

I don't see penguinspuzzle listed. I have my remote mapped to keyboard buttons (for XBMC), so I play it with my remote lol.
Direction Pad on remote = arrow keys
Rewind button = R (restarts the level)
Play Button = Spacebar (switch penguins)
Back button = Escape (exit the game)

2 Things:

1. Did you know that you can skip to next/previous levels using N/P?

2. Try:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update && apt-cache search penguins puzzle

I forgot to mention that unfortunately you can't get pydance from the repositories.
You can download it from here: https://icculus.org/pyddr/download.php#source

(Shouldn't be hard to install - just follow the README.)
Any one being able to intall correctly pydance? I followed the readme and the install instructions in latest raspbian with no luck.

I'm afraid I cannot answer this, as I have not tried it. You might want to go and try looking at the code, see if you can see any mistakes. Try posting this question up on the Python forums.

I finally made it work.

It was a total newby issue, I gave me permissions on the installation folder (and subfolders) of pydance and everything works now.

I rebuild the GNURobbo package with sound enabled. (Deban packages it without sound.) Now you can play this game on your pi.

Gnu Robbo is a logic game which is a refreshed version of classic game The Adventures of Robbo known from Atari. The goal of the game is to collect all parts of broken capsule which allows fixing it.

My builds: http://wndbz.nl/raspberry-pi/
GNURobbo homepage: http://gnurobbo.sourceforge.net/

As you would any other program or dependency from the Repos, in Console or a Terminal in XWindows Type -

sudo apt-get install mednafen

Although to be honest its notoriously difficult to setup/use if your not familiar with command line and emulators in general, also there are now far better solutions available for the systems it emulates. If you wish to experiment with emulation take a look at the 'Emulation on the Raspberry Pi' Sticky Thread which explains how its achieved, covers everything from available Repo downloads to compiling your own from Source Code, suggested 'Best Solutions' for many systems, general musings and Trivia.

If so, just double-click on the rom. I think that they have to be (amongst others) .gba, .gbc, .smc, .nes, .lnx (I think) and more.
