exit button on dgen and gpsp

Mon Jun 03, 2013 7:38 pm

Hi ive done the hotkey in retroarch to get back to the menu and works great on most things but dgen and gpsp don't listen to the retroarch controller configs.
ive been looking around and have seen other people have done it but mine won't work
on gpsp ive created a file gpsp_input.cfg with all the controls and including the line:
btn_quit = 6
but nothing

also in dgenrc
joy_quit = joystick0-button6
also nothing
dgen is especially annoying as my start button started off on R2 button but it swapped in the config fine

In gpSP, press select+ R to bring up a little GUI that you can quit from.

I'm having similar issues.

I downloaded the latest image of RetroPie (1.5) and imaged my SDHC card.

Everything is working pretty well, but I can not for the life of me find how to configure the gpsp controls.

This includes mapping the keys so that I can use the 'Start' button on my 360 controller instead of the 'X' for the start menu. Or being able to back out from a game in the emulator. These are just examples.

A detailed explanation of what files I need to change or where to look would be helpful. I'd really like to change what my 360 buttons do in the gpsp emulator.

I've tried changing the 'retroarch.cfg' in the /home/pi/RetroPie/configs/gba but to no avail.

I've also messed around with the 'keys.txt' in /home/pi/RetroPie/emulators/gpsp/raspberrypi but again to no avail.

I'm lost.

Please help.

Thank you!

If I remember right, you can set up your controller entirely within gpsp itself. Just bring up the menu - I think it's hard-coded to Select + R as JBaker1225 said, and there's also a keyboard input for it (either escape or one of the function keys, I think).

I've tried but still get nothing, the only 360 controller keys that do anything are the XYAB, LB, RB and then the analog stick. I'm trying to get it going without having to have a keyboard hooked up to the Pi.

Again, I haven't modified the image or files. I directly downloaded the 1.5 image and still can't get it to change.

Looks like it's Y + RB on my unconfigured wired 360 controller to open the menu.

In /home/pi/.dgen/dgenrc add joy_quit = ... and assign an exit button.
In my case, the line looks like this:

Code: Select all

joy_quit = "joystick0-button5"
