I am using recently purchased pi4... same issue... fresh buster install...

Any progress on this yet?

possibly related, the following config.txt lines needed to be commented out to even get GUI to load:

#dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d
#max_framebuffers=2

cmd line works, but as soon as running startx, i get black screen and small colored vertical lines in top left of screen... then the pi locks up.

Try running sudo raspi-config and changing the gl driver in advanced.

@ Marekkon5

When running raspi-config -> (7) Advanced Options -> (A7) GL Driver:

I am presented w/ two options...

G1 Legacy (non-GL)
G2 GL (Fake KMS)

G2 removes the comment from:
#dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d

G1 is the only one workings for me (the option I was using at time of the post)

Any other thoughts?
