Arcade Machine Project

Thu Dec 14, 2017 5:14 pm

Good day, people.

i would very much like assistance in a Project I'm thinking of.

I want to open a Video Game themed restaurant.

So, the main theme will be Arcades. I am thinking in building each popular arcade machine (like Mortal Kombat, Pac Man, Space Invaders, etc.).

So, I bought the Joysticks, buttons, IPAC, etc. All I need is the Arcade Cabinet, but my brother is a carpenter, so that will be easy.

Now... I would like some advice on what Software should I use and how to make a coin box work with an emulator.

I was thinking on buying several Raspberry's instead of old PC's.

I am thinking in using only one game per machine, since I will try to replicate original Arcades.

What Raspberry would be good for that?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards.

Hello Soda,

instead of re-creating the original arcade cabinets from scratch, why don't you buy pre-owned originals themselves? This way, you would also avoid copyright infringements since you'll have the original circuit boards. Most ROMs available on the net are not legal. You should consider that especially if you're going to put them up in a public place.

Here's a two-hour video about finding cheap used arcades online:
