Perhaps I wasn't clear. I've tried the data files from the wolf3d 1.4 demo, downloaded from the 3D Realms site here:
As well as the data files (*.WL6) from the full version purchased here:
Using the Windows, this version works with my data files from the full version above:
"Win32 binary for Full 1.4 Apogee version (132 kB, not tested)"
But it always says "NO WOLFENSTEIN 3-D DATA FILES to be found!" on Linux.
... looked at the source ... it looks for lowercase filenames only (*.wl6 instead of *.WL6).
OK so got it working finally, no thanks to the documentation.
If you're using the full version of Wolf3D 1.4 from 3D Realms (the registered download for purchase here
) then you edit version.h and only leave this line uncommented under the "Defines used for different versions" section:
And all the filenames (*.WL6 in this case) need to be changed to all lowercase and placed in the same directory as your wolf3d
