EmulationStation Controller Configuration Not Saving

Hi, Everyone,

I apologized but I've searched high and low and can't find an answer for this one.

I continually go into the configuration for the controller in EmulationStation and set all the buttons appropriately. Whenever I do this then load a game it immediately reverts back to the default settings. It never saves or remembers the inputs as I have set them.

There must be something I'm doing wrong but I'll be darned if I can figure out what it is.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

What have you done so far? I know things like controls are under retroarch. There might be some settings in there that are not letting them save. Good luck with this!

All I've done so far is to try looking at the config file and swapping the numbers but that hasn't worked. It seems like there's some permission or something preventing the configuration to save. No matter how many times I map the controllers out in the program they revert back as soon as I start up a rom.
