Hi there,

I was wondering how people have setup 4 arcade controllers for their retropie? I just bought and setup my raspberry pie yesterday and I currently have 2 player setup using the basic joystick + 6 button layout with coin and start buttons - but want to build a 4 player unit. The buttons and USB encoders I used are linked below. My main concern is power. Currently I am just running my 2 control pads off the USB ports on the raspberry pi, but with 4 controllers will I need an alternate power source? Additionally, how have people wired their 4 player units (ipac 4, 2x ipac 2, etc.). I'm very new to all this, so laymens terms are appreciated ;) ... UTF8&psc=1

So, is the problem that there isn't enough ports to plug in the controllers?

Appreciate the clarifying question, apologies if I was not clear in my initial post.

The 1st questions is does my Raspberry Pie put out enough amperage to run 4 arcade controllers through the 4 USB ports?

The 2nd question is how are people wiring their arcade controllers for 4 players. Are you guys/gals using a designated USB cable/encoder for each button/joystick set - or are you wiring all the buttons and joysticks to one encoder, like the IPAC 4, with a single USB cable to the Pie?
