Re: How to setup Minecraft 1.12 on Raspberry Pi 3

You don't actually need to extract the files from the jar file. It looks like the Optifine_1.12_HD_U_C3.jar file exists - I don't know why it won't execute.

I would delete everything in you Downloads folder and re-download the jar file.

I think I've spotted the problem - your missing the capital F !

Code: Select all

java -jar OptiFine_1.12_HD_U_C3.jar

I'm not sure why you've got anything pointing to 1.11.2 !

When you installed Minecraft (java -jar Minecraft.jar) did you specify release 1.12 ?

Are you using my runOptifine1_12.sh script ?

yes i'm using your run_optifine script. i was trying if 1.11.2 could work but neither work.
and 1.12 gives the exact same error..

Try steps 8 (Copy libraries) and 9 (Update lwjgl) again.

If that doesn't work, I would start from scratch with a freshly flashed sd card.

If you follow all steps exactly it should work fine.

Did you install Minecraft 1.12.1 and OptiFine 1.12.1 HD U C5 ?

I've done a fresh install today - which worked fine.

When do you get that error ?

There isn't a 1.12.1.json file - only 1.12.json !

Did you edit something else in the runOptifine1_12_1.json file ?

The MINECRAFT_VERSION should stay as 1.12

Perhaps n00b question, but how often does Minecraft get updated?

I think I've spotted the problem - your missing the capital F !

Code: Select all

java -jar OptiFine_1.12_HD_U_C3.jar
Ha, that was a painful lesson. Using Autofill [Tab] after using partial file/directory names in the terminal is a good way to avoid this in the future.
