Another RetroPie user in need of help.

Fri Oct 28, 2016 4:16 pm

Got my fresh RPI3 and fully updated it. Rebooted. Checked for updates again, rebooted.

Used this guide to install RetroPie manually: ... stallation

I got all the way to 'Full Install' before the options on screen did not match the documentation (outdated?)
Either way, I did a complete package install and it seemed to go fine. Rebooted.

Then, "EmulationStation can be run from the terminal by typing emulationstation in the terminal "

So I try that, seems I need to logout and do it in command line. Ok, so I logout and then CTRL+ALT+F1 and try it, this is my current progress:

Can't seem to figure out how to shut down X after I logged out and I'm at command line already. Did I miss a step somewhere?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What install tutorial are you using? I see several commands typed in that I don't remember ever having to type. And in my experience updating packages is completely automated.
