Xbox 360 controller with pi3

Tue May 10, 2016 6:49 pm

Hi all,

I've got Steve Smith's image for RasPlex and RetroPie and it is amazing! Love it, just works brilliantly. I've bought a crappy £3.50 controller and it's ok, but would prefer something better. I have xbox360 controllers, but can they work wirelessly. I do t know how they work with Xbox, is it Bluetooth? If so pi 3 has Bluetooth, so will it work?

Any idea how to set it up?

There is no way to use the 360 controllers with the native bluetooth interface on the Pi, but I run 4 of these controllers with a USB wireless dongle linked below. I am running Recalbox and the only change I had to make was setting the config file to use the xbox 360 driver. I do believe there is an automated process for changing the driver on Retropie although I can't recall the exact steps.
