Emulators on Raspberry Pi 2

Wed Nov 04, 2015 5:04 pm

Dear Community,

Would you say that the Raspberry Pi 2 is holding me back from Playing Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, Nintendo DS, and N64 or is it more than capable, but the emulators need further optimization? The Reason I ask is you can get boards like Orange Pi PC, and Odroid C1 for the same price or cheaper than the RPI 2.

Thanks,

RetroPi has loads of emulators built in, they seem to work fine.

One thing to note about MAME (and others) - they are designed to emulate exactly, not necessarily at a playable speed.

I currently use Retropie and Lakka, which both work wonderful, but I would like to play other emulators that aren't currently on there. Would this be because of the pi's hardware or the code for the emulators hasn't been optimized correctly yet?
