First off, I'm not a programmer but I've done some research on this.
This is the Freeware Spelunky:

The Original Spelunky seems to be modifyable and it would be interesting to see this get ported to a Raspberry Pi.
Features:
1. The Game is Freeware and can be modded and freely distributed.
2. It uses Mark Overman's Game Maker: Studio: http://www.yoyogames.com/studio
3. It's Source Code is availible to download:
http://www.derekyu.com/games/spelunky_1_1_src.zip
4. Here is link to the Terms of Use of the Source Code: http://www.spelunkyworld.com/files/COPYING.txt
If anyone is able to port or recompile this for Raspberry Pi it would be awesome. I just thought I share this as I've looked on the forums and haven't found anyone who has been able to do this yet. I completely understand if a person would be unwilling to port this to Pi but I feel having the information here would be helpful to those interested in doing a Pi Project on this. It would be cool if a mod of this can be put on the PiStore for Free or if it can be compiled and put onto Raspbian Repo.

Re: Spelunky (Freeware) on Raspberry pi? Anyone capable?
It won't be possible until game maker adds a RPi exporter
It looks like it's planned though:

Good to know. If and when the support happens we should keep this post around to motivate some action on it. Those interested should shoot a reply on Forums link provided by Steev.steev wrote:It won't be possible until game maker adds a RPi exporter

Yeah, since it's game maker it wouldn't be compatible until game maker exporting gets to the pi... Someone could reprogram the entire thing, but that wouldn't exactly be a port.
Best to wait for now.

This space is reserved for something actually useful, and will probably never be filled.

That is exciting news! Hope somebody can do it. I was the one who started this and finally the SDK is here! Plus with the Pi2B's power it will certain attain the ability to play this game easily.Forrrge wrote:Now that GameMaker games are available on RPi https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/three- ... pberry-pi/ any chance someone can get this working ?
