How to install Lunar Client on the Raspberry Pi (arm32 only!)

Prerequisites: A pi-3-4 with a 32 bit OS
A Minecraft account
Run Minecraft at least once using Rpi-Mikes script
Do sudo apt install -y modprobe then sudo modprobe fuse
Do sudo apt-get install subversion
Your Raspberry Pi username and home dir name has to be pi

1. Replace jre with javafx included jre
This will take a bit, as youre downloading quite a large folder

Code: Select all

cd /opt/jdk/jdk1.8.0_251
sudo rm -rf /jre
echo please wait a bit, as this step takes a bit
sudo svn checkout https://github.com/gl91306/lunar/trunk/jre
cd
2. Add webp-imageio.so to lwjgl folders
You can do this manually, but this script makes it faster

Code: Select all

cd ~/lwjgl2arm32
wget https://github.com/gl91306/lunar/raw/master/libwebp-imageio32.so
cd
cd ~/lwjgl3arm32
wget https://github.com/gl91306/lunar/raw/master/libwebp-imageio32.so
cd
3. Download the Appimage
The actual thing, compiled for arm32 :D

Code: Select all

wget https://github.com/gl91306/lunar/raw/master/lunarclient-2.7.3a-armv7l.AppImage
sudo chmod +x $HOME/lunarclient-2.7.3a-armv7l.AppImage
Then run it with

Code: Select all

./lunarclient-2.7.3a-armv7l.AppImage
And that's it! Lunar on the Pi. All the files are on my repo: https://github.com/gl91306/lunar
1.8, 1.16, and MS Acc support are tested and SHOULD work(Hopefully :P )
If there are any problems please be sure to ask for help!
This took a lot of time to make, so plz leave a star on github if ya can.
ALSO arm64 support is coming soon so please be patient :D

EDIT

Now all you have to do is run the install script form my repo! MS account support is down tho. It might take a while to get it back up...

Bug list [ RPI 4b 4gb RPI OS 32bits OC 2ghz ] :

1 Infinite starting of the Java virtual machine (JVM) : change your allocated memory to the half of the slider
2 Infinite Mojang screen : really annoying, didn't find a fix

Hope this list helped, if i find more I'm gonna edit the list.

I did find some bugs (rpi 4b 4gb,rpi os 32bits):

2 Infinite mojang screen (really annoying, didn't find a fix)

Sorry for not replying sooner. As I said, I'm not that active on the forums. For the first bug, its not that important for now, as it has an quick fix. I will fix this in a new update tho. For the second one, I'm not sure. Make sure you installed lunar using the uninstall script in my repo. Also if your on 1.17, use a different version, as that takes a long time to load. Also, If it still doesnt work, please add an issue in me repo containing the contents of /home/pi/.lunarclient/logs/renderer.log. https://github.com/gl91306/lunar/issues Also please note that with lunar's transition to java 16, MS accounts don't work, as a library is not missing and not available for armv7l. So MS account support will take a while to arrive.

Yes, But its fixed now. Still a few problems with the ms accounts though. Aslong as you dont have an ms account and just a mojang you should be fine!
:D
edit: It now supports ms accounts. Thanks to gl91306 and oxmc! ;)
