This is yet another Minecraft post, but I hope this one will be a bit different. Don't worry about the title, this isn't a yet another anachronic request to bring back MCPI, we have taken it into our own hands!
We are trying to bring MCPI back!
Modding, but we are trying to do a lot more than just using and abusing the API, we are building extensions to the API, a compatibility layer for joining modern BE servers, a Launcher and much more!
We, a bunch of random people that joined forces to develop this.
Well, we have a GitHub Organization for sharing code, a Discord server for sharing ideas and general chatting, and a simple website.
Some members of the GitHub Organization (@Nobody5050, @MFDGaming, and me) have been working on MC(PI)-related things for many months (some years in "small"/private projects), and we joined forces a few months ago, after a series of posts and exchange of DMs in the MCPI subforum of MCForums.
More concrete stuff?
The Launcher comes with a T-Chat patch that doesn't move you if you press WASD . There is a MCPI server called PiCraft, hosted by one of the members of the community. We host a Realms-like API for server discovering. And, recently, @TheBrokenRail published a mod that allows MCPI to run in RPi VMs (like QEMU) and containers (Docker), by replacing all the GPU-specific calls with cross-platform ones!
Uh... Where's the trick?
We need your support! If you are interested, come join us! Ideas, feedback, and contributions of all the types will be always appreciated!
If you just want to take a look, here are the intructions to install some of our projects (there's still a lot in development!):
