Retropie Issue

Tue Nov 19, 2019 10:29 am

Hi folks, having some issues with my Pie running Retropie, I've had
it for a few years, just recently looked it out for a bit of gaming.

Every time I boot up, it askes me to map my controller, and then
when I go in to a game, play for a bit, exit back to the menu
it freezes, I can't move up or down to select another game, or go back
to the main retro pie menu. I have to switch it off, then back on again & same
scenario, it asks to config the controller, most annoying!!

I'm using Bluetooth controllers, I have 2 of them. I also have
a USB controller which I also tried, just the same scenario...
Same with keyboard, when exit game, freezes.

Any help would be great.

Not sure if this is a RbPi issue or a RetroPie issue.. Have you tried to examine the syslog and/or dmesg for any clues? As I remember, in emulation station you press F4 to go to a terminal and then you can scroll through the syslog with:

Code: Select all

less /var/log/syslog
You can go to newest entries by pressing "B" (for Bottom) and then scroll upwards with up-arrow. You can review messages from the kernel, which may also give a hint, with the command:

Code: Select all

If there are no clues, I would try another SD-card.
Please do not ask questions in private messages, they will not help others.

Thanks for the reply, I've tried a different card as well...
